While many savvy business travelers already use Google Maps or Mapquest to locate hotels close to
their travel destination, some travel booking engines have additional search options that you might have to search
for:
USING TRAVEL BOOKING ENGINES:
Finding lodging close to your business destination
Discover "Additional search options"!
First, find the zip code of your destination, then do a search for lodging by zip. Since you generally can't do this on a
standard booking engine, click on the travel or hotel site you wish to use to go to their home page, then
look for their "search by address" option.
If not available, do a standard search, then look for the additional search options after your
initial result comes up.
When you search by zip/location, city center, attraction, the list of hotels you get will be ordered by
proximity to whatever you entered; in some cases you may have to select a "sort by location" (vs. price) tab
again if it does not default to it.
This is a feature worth taking the trouble to find.
Sorting by Price Range, Star Rating and Distance from
Location
... is another feature that may be hidden under a tab. Selecting your desired ranges can quickly narrow down
the choices you have to go through to find the hotel that meets your needs.
The more you book through one site, the more you
save
This is just a reminder that you can sometimes save as much as 40% when booking your air,
lodging and car through one booking site rather than seperately.
